Product description
This is an antique Chinese tea caddy, made of tin at the end of the 19th or beginning of the 20th century. The object stands out with its lobed, clover-leaf shaped silhouette and rich, reddish-brown lacquer finish, a characteristic of traditional Chinese craftsmanship from that period. The tea caddy is decorated with refined, gold-colored details. Chinese characters and an image of bamboo stalks are applied to the various sides, giving the piece an authentic and decorative appearance. The construction consists of a base, a body, and a double lid to keep the tea fresh. A maker's mark is visible on the underside. The object is in a condition consistent with its age and shows a lived-in character. The patina that has formed over time contributes to the historical charm of the tea caddy. The original structure and lid have been preserved. This tea caddy is an elegant Decorative Objects that adds a touch of Asian history to an interior. It fits well in a classic or eclectic decor, for example on a sideboard, in a display cabinet, or as part of a collection.
