Product description
Very unique: a sculptural Brazilian table lamp crafted in a distinctive Art Deco style.
The dome-shaped shade and the base are made from turned 'butterfly wood'.,Brazilian wood, from the 1920s or 30s.
Made by Inds. Artifama S.A.? (see signature fig 15)
The wood has developed a beautiful patina that contributes to the unique character of the lamp.
Also rare: 2 light sources, one in the base and another in the shade (see fig 7)
The light shines subtly through the richly patterned wood (fig 14)
Some small imperfections (see fig 8,9), not very disturbing and do not let light through when the lamp is on.
Notches on the underside of the shade (fig 12) serve to correctly place the shade on horizontal rods that fit into the groove (fig 11)
Despite small imperfections, this lamp is a beautiful and rare find and fits perfectly on a dresser, side table or desk and comes into its own in a classic, eclectic, or modern interior.
Height 40 cm, shade diameter 22 cm, base diameter 16 cm
