Product description
Antique 19th-century hat maker's stand with wooden head
Special antique hat maker's / milliner's stand, presumably dating from 1850–1890.
The stand has four gracefully curved legs made of laminated wood, a handcrafted wooden sleeve, and an original clamping mechanism with an iron T-handle.
The stand is height-adjustable from 72 to 88 cm (total height including head block).
The stand was used around 1900-1910 in my great-grandmother's hat shop in Utrecht. The removable solid wooden head block shows authentic signs of use and pinholes, consistent with long-term professional use.
A rare and characterful piece of historical craftsmanship, also a special Decorative Objects for a vintage or classic interior. Can be used as a hat or wig stand.
Condition: authentic used condition, with signs of age and beautiful patina.
Asking price: €595 – offers possible.
