Beautiful mid-century Anglo-Indian side table with elephant-head legs and a round tabletop depicting the Taj Mahal. These tables were made in India for tourists around the 1950s.
This table features marquetry inlay with bone and colored wood pieces. It is highly decorative and, due to its size, suitable for many places in the home. The table has lived a lifetime, and it shows; the whole piece has a charming patina of age and use.
This item is in good vintage condition, with signs of age and use commensurate with its age. A small crack along the edge of the tabletop is due to age, some tusks are missing or have been replaced, and some pieces of the marquetry are missing. However, the table is still very solid and sturdy and still looks fantastic. Check the photos for more details!
