Product description
Old wooden tripod chair, early/mid 20th century, Spanish inspired.
The high backrest and seat are adorned with openwork clovers. The visible surfaces are carved with a gouge, giving a rustic and raw appearance. It comes with its small original mustard yellow velvet cushion, edged with a twisted braid.
This type of tripod seat is traditionally associated with midwives' birthing chairs. Its low shape, wide seat, and two armrests served this purpose. Today, it easily finds its place as an accent, corner, or entrance chair.
In good general condition, with traces of use. An old wood filler repair is visible under the seat and on one side (see photos). The three legs are in good condition and the chair is stable. Two legs screw on and off. One leg has been glued.
