Product description
Charming decorative bird figurine in biscuit porcelain (unglazed matte porcelain), entirely hand-painted during the 1970s. This animal statuette faithfully represents an American Robin (or a bird from the thrush family), characterized by its bright brick-orange breast and its white textured throat with small black speckles painted with great precision. The bird, with an umber brown back and olive green hued head, is posed in a lively attitude, perched on a sculpted tree stump adorned with small green leaves at its base. The matte finish of the biscuit and the realistic modeling evoke mid-range German or Italian productions of the era. The hollowed base does not bear a manufacturer's signature, making it a lovely, accessible piece of popular animal art. Features: • Subject: American Robin / Thrush • Material: Hand-painted biscuit porcelain • Period: Circa 1970-1980 • Dimensions: Height 10 cm | Length 7 cm | Width 4 cm • Condition: Splendid vintage condition. The biscuit porcelain is very sound, without any cracks or chips, the matte colors have remained perfectly original.
