Private sellerProduct description
This is the Les Ministres fruit bowl, a distinctive piece of postmodern design created by Philippe Starck for the Italian manufacturer Alessi. The design is an iconic example of Starck's playful and anthropomorphic approach to everyday objects, first introduced in 1996.
The bowl is constructed from two primary materials: a polished stainless steel dish resting upon a tripod base made of vibrant orange polyamide resin. The base is formed by three stylized figures, a signature motif in Starck's work from this period. With a diameter of 29 centimetres and a height of 14 centimetres, its proportions make it a functional centrepiece for a table or sideboard.
This particular piece is in very good condition, having been used for display purposes only. The stainless steel surface maintains its reflective quality, and the orange resin base is structurally sound and retains its original saturated colour. As a design that is no longer in production, it represents a collectible item from Alessi's celebrated catalogue.
The Les Ministres bowl serves as both a functional object and a sculptural accent. Its bold colour and form make it a focal point in a variety of interior settings, from minimalist to eclectic, complementing other pieces of Italian or postmodern design.
