About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
This is a ceramic dachshund Sculpture, designed by the Italian master ceramist Aldo Londi for the manufacturer Bitossi. The piece is a characteristic example of Londi's mid-20th century work and is part of his famous animal series.
The Sculpture is executed in the iconic 'Rimini Blu' color scheme, a vibrant blue glaze that has become synonymous with Londi's work for Bitossi. The surface is adorned with impressed geometric and floral patterns, a technique that adds texture and depth to the ceramic. This specific design, produced in Italy, embodies the playful yet refined aesthetic of 1960s Italian design.
The overall condition of the object is good, in accordance with its age and material. The glaze retains its deep, saturated color, and the structural integrity of the ceramic is intact. The piece has an authentic character that tells the story of its past.
With its stylized form and striking color, this dachshund is a charming addition to any interior. It functions excellently as a standalone decorative object on a dresser, bookshelf, or side table and fits seamlessly into both Mid-Century Modern and eclectic decor.
