About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
This is a ceramic vase, designed by the influential Italian ceramist Aldo Londi for the manufacturer Bitossi. The piece is part of the 'Stambecchi' series, which is characterized by the stylized depictions of ibexes.
The vase was manufactured in Italy and displays Londi's characteristic techniques. The exterior has a textured, vertically striped finish in a beige-yellow hue, on which hand-painted ibexes in earthy colors such as orange, brown, green, and black are applied. The interior and the top rim are finished with a contrasting green glaze. The bottom is marked with 'ITALY' and the model designation 'VD 172/21', confirming its authenticity and origin.
The overall condition of the vase is good and consistent with its age and vintage character. The handmade nature is clearly visible in the brushstrokes and the texture of the glaze, making each piece from this series unique. The vase retains its structural and aesthetic integrity.
As a standalone decorative object, this vase adds a touch of mid-century Italian design to any interior. It is particularly suitable for placement on a sideboard, in a bookcase, or as part of a ceramic collection, and pairs well with both vintage and modern styles.
