Product description
This stylish trolley, model 709, was designed by the Danish designer and cabinetmaker Aksel Kjersgaard and produced by Odder Møbelfabrik in Denmark. The design dates from the 1960s and is a fine example of the refined Danish Mid-Century Modern design from this period.
The furniture is made of beautiful teak and stands out for its compact size, elegant lines and surprisingly practical layout. The fixed top offers enough space for a record player, for example, while the drawers / compartments offer possibilities for storing LPs, music accessories, magazines or other items. Thanks to the wheels, the entire unit can also be easily moved.
The beautiful rounded uprights, carefully finished edges and visible dovetail joints in the drawers underline the craftsmanship with which this piece of furniture was made. Model 709 is therefore regularly referred to internationally as a phono trolley or sengebord, which nicely matches its original multifunctional character.
Of course, the trolley can also be perfectly used as a stylish bar or serving trolley, side table, bedside table or compact Storage cabinet. It is precisely this versatility that makes the design particularly attractive even today.
The warm grain of the teak, the refined construction and the understated design give the furniture a timeless appearance that effortlessly fits both a Mid-Century and a contemporary interior. A compact Danish design in which functionality, design and high-quality cabinetmaking beautifully come together.
