Product description
This neo-expressionist composition, created in the manner of Jean-Michel Basquiat, captures the raw energy and distinctive visual language of the 1980s New York art scene. The work channels the iconic motifs associated with the era, presenting a compelling study in contemporary street-influenced artistry.
Executed in oil on a wooden panel, the painting features a dynamic interplay of bold, gestural strokes and cryptic text elements. The central figure, rendered in stark black and white against a vibrant red and ochre background, is crowned and armed, embodying the complex themes often explored in neo-expressionist works. The piece is housed in an ornate, gilded wooden frame that provides a striking classical contrast to the modern, chaotic energy of the painting itself.
The artwork remains in good condition, preserving the intensity of the original pigments and the textured application of the oil paint. The frame exhibits character consistent with its age, adding a layer of historical context to the presentation.
This striking piece serves as a powerful focal point in both modern and eclectic interiors. It pairs exceptionally well with minimalist furnishings, allowing the vibrant colours and intricate details to command attention in a living space or private study.
