The Creso dining table, designed by Lella & Massimo Vignelli in 1988, is a timeless classic that excels in simplicity and strength. This version (item number F042922) is entirely crafted in matte Travertine marble (MR08), in both the tabletop (P151) and the base (S110), creating a calm and monolithic appearance. The round tabletop has a diameter of 160 cm and is made of 2 cm thick Travertine with a natural, polished finish. The table rests on a single cylindrical column base, crafted from a single solid block of Travertine, creating a powerful and sculptural whole. Internally, the construction is supported by an iron column, ensuring the table is very stable despite its massive appearance without compromising the marble cladding. The base is finished with a cap in mica grey. The design emphasizes the pure form and natural character of the material, where variations in color, veining, and minor imperfections actually contribute to the authenticity of the Travertine. With a height of 72 cm, this table is ideal as a generous and stylish dining table. In 1989, the design received an Honourable Mention at the ADI Compasso d’Oro.
