Product description
Abstract Composition in Red, Yellow and Blue by Arty Grimm, screenprint (silkscreen), 2004. This screenprint by Arty Grimm, created in 2004 and numbered 179 from an edition of 200, presents a bold abstract composition executed in primary colors. Dominated by red, yellow, and deep blue tones, the work demonstrates a strong sense of balance between color fields, texture, and form.
The composition is structured around layered vertical elements, with dense dark passages contrasting against a luminous yellow ground. At the upper section, two red organic forms introduce visual tension, while the lower portion features textured, circular motifs that add rhythmic variation to the surface. The use of roughened textures and irregular edges gives the print a tactile, expressive quality despite the graphic medium.
Although executed as a screenprint, the work retains a painterly presence through its layered application of color and its emphasis on material surface. The restrained palette and abstract language place the work firmly within contemporary graphic abstraction, where color and form function independently of narrative or representation.
Arty Grimm is known for abstract compositions that explore contrast, structure, and chromatic interaction. His graphic works are appreciated for their strong visual impact and disciplined use of color, making them accessible yet conceptually grounded examples of contemporary printmaking. Dimensions Frame: Height 49 Width 39 cm. Visual: Height 26 Width 16 cm.
