Product description
This is an original painting by the Australian artist Victor Jupurrurla Simon, titled 'Wampana (Marla)'. The work is a striking example of the traditional Aboriginal dot-painting technique, in which a complex geometric pattern is constructed from countless carefully placed dots. The artwork is executed on canvas and displays a rich color palette of earth tones, including brown, red, ochre yellow, and white, against a dark background. The composition is symmetrical and exudes a strong cultural significance, characteristic of the art from the Lajamanu region in the Northern Territory. On the reverse side of the canvas, the artist's signature, title, provenance (Warnayaka Art Centre), and date (11-3-96) are clearly legible.
