Product description
This is a historic subscription ticket for a series of classical concerts in Brussels, dating from 1938 to 1939. The object offers a rare glimpse into cultural life in Europe on the eve of World War II, with a program by the 'Nouveaux Concerts de Bruxelles' in the Egmont Palace.
Original subscription card, numbered 451, for 'Série A' of the '6 Concerts Extraordinaires'. The concert series, which ran from November 1938 to April 1939, included festivals dedicated to composers such as Beethoven, Bach, Mozart, Ravel, and Debussy. The card is made of paper and is attached to a cover with a textured pattern. The punch holes on the dates indicate attendance at the concerts.
The item is in a condition consistent with its age, with clear signs of use that contribute to its authentic character. A remarkable detail is the signature on the back, attributed to the Austrian conductor Felix Weingartner, one of the most prominent musicians of his time. This makes it a unique piece with a direct link to an important figure in music history.
As a special collector's item, this subscription ticket is a valuable acquisition for lovers of classical music, ephemera, and historical documents. It is a tangible piece of history that tells a story about the rich cultural traditions of Brussels.
