The city where this sanatorium is located was once the most important health resort in the Soviet Union. In total, there were 19 sanatoriums and 9 bathhouses. The train connection to Moscow brought more than 100,000 visitors annually to bathe in the healing waters. Joseph Stalin was one of them. A personal bathhouse was built especially for him.
Traveling and photographing with a fascination for abandoned architecture and faded glory, he seeks out and explores lost and forgotten places to be rediscovered. He captures the soul and forgotten stories and transforms them into narrative images.
