A vintage Royal Tichelaar Makkum polychrome wall plate.
Design Details: Features a hand-painted polychrome decoration consisting of stylized flowers and a bird on a branch, often referred to as a "bird of paradise" motif. This piece is crafted from white earthenware with a clear tin glaze and has a scalloped, ribbed edge.
Origin: Produced in the Dutch earthenware factory Koninklijke Tichelaar Makkum, located in Friesland, The Netherlands.
The multi-colored palette combines bright white with deep shades of blue, red, green, and yellow, framed by a scalloped edge with an ochre yellow border. On the reverse side, the object is clearly marked with the authentic Makkum signature and model number 184, and it is also equipped with a sturdy metal hanging wire.
Condition: The wall plate is in excellent vintage condition. The glaze has retained its original luster and the colors remain strikingly vibrant, testifying to careful preservation over the years.
