Product description
# Marc Chagall (1887–1985) *Les Amoureux de Notre-Dame* Discover the poetic magic of Marc Chagall with this beautiful large-format lithographic print, published by the prestigious Galerie Maeght in 1981 on the occasion of the major retrospective dedicated to one of the most celebrated and admired artists of the 20th century. Presented as an *avant la lettre* example, this print features no printed text or inscriptions, while retaining the stamped signature in the lower right corner and the Atelier Maeght stamp, linking it to one of the most renowned printmaking workshops in modern art. With its generous dimensions and delicate palette of subtle pink tones, *Les Amoureux de Notre-Dame* captures the dreamlike, lyrical world that makes Chagall so extraordinary. The iconic cathedral of Paris becomes the backdrop for a romantic scene suspended between dream and reality, where lovers seem to defy gravity and express love in its purest, most universal form. Printed on high-quality, large-format paper, this elegant work makes a striking visual statement. Its soft colours and poetic imagery bring sophistication, warmth and timeless charm to any interior, while offering an appealing addition to a collection of modern art. ### Artwork details: - Artist: Marc Chagall (1887–1985) - Title: *Les Amoureux de Notre-Dame* - Technique: Offset lithographic print, tone-on-tone - Publisher: Galerie Maeght, 1981 - Print type: *Avant la lettre* - Signature: Signature stamp present - Dimensions: 91 × 57.5 cm - Condition: Good overall condition, with minor signs of wear along the margins (please see photographs) - Frame: Not included More than a decorative piece, this work offers a little escape into a poetic Paris, where love and imagination transcend reality.
