A warm glow of honeyed amber defines this elegant vintage glass bowl and matching plate set by Verrerie de Scailmont, a Belgian glass manufactory founded in the late 19th century near La Louvière. Marked “Belge” on the base, the set dates to the Art Deco period of the 1930s, when the factory created distinctive pressed glass pieces that combined practicality with decorative beauty.
The design reflects the spirit of the era: rhythmic fluted lines form a sculptural, flower-like silhouette, while the base is adorned with a delicate motif of grapes and a pear, symbolizing abundance and harvest.
