Crystal Candle Holder, "Medusa Lumière" collection designed by Versace for Rosenthal in the 90s, Ø 10 cm h 27 cm.
The Versace for Rosenthal collaboration, launched in 1992 under the creative direction of Gianni Versace, represents the pinnacle of "luxury maximalism." If Bulgari for Rosenthal is the essence of imperial sobriety, Versace is the explosion of baroque rock, mythology, and pure color. It is a fusion of German porcelain excellence and the rebellious, opulent aesthetic of the Milanese fashion house.
Each piece is a manifesto of Versace's visual codes: the Medusa, almost always positioned at the center of plates, cups, or as the knob of teapots (often in relief or gold). The Greca (Greek Key), the geometric motif that frames the edges, a symbol of continuity and classical roots. The Baroque, with acanthus leaf scrolls, exotic flowers, and "foulard" (scarf-like) motifs covering the entire surface of the porcelain.
