Product description
Eskimo sculpture in stoneware, created by Juan Huerta for Lladró in the 1990s. Diameter 20 cm, Diameter 14 cm, height 26 cm. Juan Huerta was one of the historical pillars and most prolific sculptors of the celebrated Lladró manufactory, the Valencia-based company renowned worldwide for its porcelain figurines with pastel shades and elongated forms. Having joined the Lladró 'family' in the 1960s, Huerta definitively contributed to defining what we now know as the Lladró style: a blend of gentle realism, classic elegance, and a certain sentimental streak. He was primarily active between the 1960s and the early 2000s. Huerta was a master at capturing the delicacy of gestures. His works range from childlike figures to religious themes, and animals, always with meticulous attention to detail (such as the famous handmade porcelain flowers, petal by petal). Lladró is not just a brand, but the global symbol of Spanish artistic porcelain. Founded in 1953 in Almàssera (Valencia) by brothers Juan, José, and Vicente Lladró, the company transformed a small artisanal production into a luxury empire present in over 120 countries. Unlike traditional porcelain, which requires multiple firings, Lladró perfected high-temperature single firing. This technique allows for the creation of the celebrated soft hues (powder blue, pearl grey, flesh pink) which seem to emanate light from within. Additional details: - Brand: Lladrò - Designer: Juan Huerta - Style: Stile Lladró - Material: Gres - Period: Anni 90
