About this seller
ProfessionalProduct description
This set consists of eight original Eames Fiberglass Side Chairs, designed by Charles and Ray Eames and manufactured by Herman Miller. These chairs are iconic examples of Mid-Century Modern design, known for their organically shaped, one-piece seat shell, originally designed as an entry for the Museum of Modern Art's "International Competition for Low-Cost Furniture Design".
Each chair features a fiberglass seat shell, whose visible fiber structure gives each piece a unique character. The shells rest on the iconic "Eiffel" base made of chromed steel, which provides both stability and a delicate aesthetic. This set is characterized by a diverse color palette, including red, white, green, black, and yellow tones, creating a vibrant and versatile seating group.
The overall condition of the chairs is good and corresponds to their age and history. The fiberglass elements show an authentic patina, testifying to their long-term use. The Herman Miller manufacturer's embossing under the seat shell confirms the authenticity and heritage of these mid-20th century design classics.
These chairs are an excellent addition to any dining area, office, or living space, fitting both modern and vintage interiors. Their timeless form and colorful composition make them a striking focal point in any interior.
