About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
A set of eight dining chairs, designed by Ruud Jan Koppe for the Dutch manufacturer Harvink. These chairs are a prime example of functional Dutch design, characterized by an innovative construction and a minimalist aesthetic. The design stands out due to the unique seat and backrest, which are formed from woven wooden slats.
The chairs are made with a sturdy metal frame in a silver-grey finish, creating an industrial yet refined contrast with the seat. The seat and backrest consist of curved plywood with a clear wood veneer, where the slat structure is not only visually interesting but also provides flexible and comfortable seating. This thoughtful use of materials is characteristic of Koppe's designs and Harvink's production quality.
This set is in good condition, with a character that matches its age and use. The chairs retain their original finish and structural integrity, testifying to the durable quality of the materials and construction. The overall presentation is consistent and representative of the set as a whole.
With their sleek and graphic silhouette, these dining chairs fit perfectly into a modern or Scandinavian dining room. They combine well with both a wooden and a glass dining table and add an element of design history to the interior.
