Engraved crystal champagne coupes – late 19th / early 20th century
Beautiful engraved crystal champagne coupes, featuring a classic flared shape resting on a stem with a central knotted ring and a wide circular base.
Decoration: the bowl is adorned with an engraved frieze composed of several registers — a row of dotted/scaled patterns at the top, a frieze of interlaced motifs (garland in brackets) just below, and then a play of crossed ribbons in undulating arches that encircle the body of the coupe. This ornamental repertoire, very fine and executed with a wheel, is characteristic of French crystal services from the late 19th/early 20th century (in the spirit of Baccarat or Saint-Louis productions, without certainty of attribution in the absence of a visible signature).
Material: perfectly transparent crystal, fine cutting and engraving, well-polished pontil under the foot.
Condition: 2 coupes with chips
Period: late 19th / early 20th century.
