About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
This is a vintage high-pile carpet, characteristic of the 1970s design aesthetic. The piece is defined by its bold, graphic pattern and a warm, earthy colour palette that captures the spirit of the era.
The carpet features a dynamic, undulating wave motif rendered in a rich spectrum of colours, including deep brown, burnt orange, beige, and cream. Its construction is a dense, looped pile, which gives the carpet a plush texture and significant visual depth. This style of rug was a hallmark of interior design during the 1970s, celebrated for bringing comfort and expressive pattern into living spaces.
In good vintage condition, the carpet has been well-preserved, retaining the vibrancy of its original colours and the integrity of its shag texture. The pile remains full and consistent throughout, showcasing the quality of its original make. It presents with a character consistent with its age, without significant signs of wear.
This carpet serves as a substantial focal point, ideal for anchoring a seating area in a living room or adding a layer of texture and warmth to a study. It pairs exceptionally well with Mid-Century Modern, Retro, and Bohemian decor, introducing a strong element of period-specific style to an interior.
