Product description

A set of six armchairs, manufactured in the iconic Thonet style. These chairs are a classic example of the bentwood design that became popular in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The silhouette is instantly recognizable and evokes the atmosphere of traditional Viennese coffee houses, a design that has remained relevant to this day.
The chairs are made of bent beech wood with a dark brown finish. Each seat features a decorative embossed pattern, adding an extra refined detail.
The origin of the set is diverse, as evidenced by the markings under the seats; labels and stamps refer to production in both Poland and the former Czechoslovakia, by manufacturers such as Thonet and the Mundus and J. & J. Kohn group. This mix of producers tells a story about the rich and complex history of furniture production in Central Europe.
Note that there are also small differences between the chairs due to this. See the photos. All chairs have the large seat with a diameter of 48 cm.
Attention, slightly different dimensions per chair!:
Back Heights: between 80 - 84 cm
Seat heigths: between 45 - 47 cm/
Diameter seats: between 47- 48 cm
Width armrests: between 58 - 64 cm
Height armrests: between 70cm -76cm
The overall condition of the chairs is good, with an authentic patina consistent with their age and use. The structural integrity is preserved, and the chairs exhibit the character and warmth that can only be acquired through time. The variations in finish and signs of wear contribute to their unique historical charm.
This set of armchairs is versatile, for example, as dining chairs around a wooden or modern dining table. They can also be used individually as characterful accent chairs in a living room, study, or hallway, where they add an element of classic European design to the interior.
