A set of six Portex stackable dining chairs, designed by Peter Hvidt & Orla Mølgaard-Nielsen in 1945 and produced by Fritz Hansen, Denmark. An early and distinctly functional design that reflects the designers' interest in rational construction and everyday use. The Portex is considered one of the first chairs designed entirely with stackability in mind.
Crafted in beech wood and featuring a deep, authentic patina developed over decades of use. The surfaces show clear signs of wear, adding to the character and authenticity.
Please note: Two chairs have veneer damage on the backrest and one has a small chip on the seat—visible in the photos.
A robust and characterful set, perfect for lovers of original vintage furniture where patina is a valuable addition.
Dimensions (per chair):
W 42 cm × D 42 cm × H 83 cm | Seat height 45 cm
