Product description
This is a vintage wall or ceiling lamp designed by the Finnish glass designer Helena Tynell and retailed by Emess Lighting, London, United Kingdom. The piece is an iconic example of her work from the mid-20th century, known for its organic and sculptural 'Bubbles' shape. The lampshade is crafted from thick, amber-colored pressed glass, formed into a cluster of spherical bubbles that spread a warm and diffused light. This design is characteristic of the Space Age and Mid-Century Modern style periods, in which experimentation with form and material took center stage. A wall sculpture that functions both as a striking design object and a functional light source, and fits well within a collection of Scandinavian or European design glass.
The overall condition of the lamp is very good. The glasswork has retained its characteristic texture and color, contributing to the object's authentic vintage appearance. It functions both as a striking design object and a functional light source, and fits well within a collection of Scandinavian or European design glass.
Dimensions: 20cm diametre, 10cm deep
