Product description
This is a vintage ceiling or wall lamp by Prisma, manufactured in the 1960s and inspired by the Bauhaus style. The design is characterized by its functional form and the use of industrially pressed glass.
Refurbished, the inside has recently been spray-painted silver mirror instead of the original white base.
This provides a more beautiful and neutral light emission behavior for the lamp to be used in the E27 fitting.
The black outer edge of the base plate makes the lamp appear to float in its own shadow when lit.
The lamp consists of a robust shade of thick, clear pressed glass with a geometric relief pattern, mounted on a metal base. This pattern ensures diffuse and atmospheric light distribution. The fixture is designed for use as both a ceiling lamp (plafondière) and a wall lamp, making it a versatile lighting solution.
The overall condition of the lamp is good, in accordance with its age and use. The glass is intact and the lamp retains its authentic character. The metal base shows some patina that contributes to the vintage look of the piece.
Thanks to its compact and minimalist design, this lamp fits perfectly into various interiors, from hallway and landing to bathroom or kitchen. It is a subtle yet stylish addition to an environment with Mid-Century Modern, industrial, or minimalist influences.
