This famous chair has been used for years as a conference chair. Bought new in 1990.
Perfect seat shape, in excellent condition, but with acceptable signs of wear.
The frame is made of steel and the arm support is made of cast aluminum. The seat and backrest are black in color, material is plastic Polyethylene HDPE (dashboard look)
Josep Lluscà was born in Barcelona in 1948 and studied Industrial Design at the Eina School in Barcelona. He later continued his studies at L'École des Arts et Métiers in Montreal. He opened his own studio in 1972, specializing in lighting and furniture. He has worked with important Spanish and international companies throughout his career: Antonio Puig Perfumes, Ena, Fagor and General Electric, among many others. One of his best-known designs is probably the Andrea chair, an elegant aluminum chair with three legs. In addition to his work as a designer, he was a professor at the Eina design school, vice-president of the ADI-FAD (Industrial Design Group of the FAD) and member of the Design Board for the Catalan regional government. He received numerous important prizes and awards for his elegant and avant-garde designs. The Andrea chair is also in the MOMA in New York.
The special design of this chair, a 3-legged design, makes seating comfort ideal. You fit in like a glove.
The seat height is 44 cm and the shape and position of the seat and backrest make you sit relaxed, even when sitting for a long time.
These chairs are only sold as a set of 6.
A specially designed conference table that was delivered at the same time as these chairs is also offered on Whoppah under my account. All together this forms an ideal dining or meeting setup.The chairs were purchased new by me at the time and were a significant investment. Due to years of use, there are scratches and some minor damage to the armrest because the edge is a fairly tight and thin shape, which means that when used during a meeting or dinner, the armrests sometimes come into contact with each other due to sliding, etc. The chairs really still look looking fine.
