The Hofbauer Bird Collection (officially known as "The Byrdes Collection") is a very famous series of luxury, vintage crystalware from West Germany.
The collection is known for its detailed depictions of birds etched into the glass.
The tableware and decorations are made of heavy, high-quality 24% lead crystal (Bleikristall).
Made by the Hofbauer crystal factory in Bavaria, Germany. The factory closed at the end of the 20th century, making these items true collector's items today.
Ruby Red: This is the most sought-after variant. The bird is set in a beautiful, deep red colored glass panel (Flachglas). This creates a warm and luxurious contrast with the clear crystal.
