About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
A refined set of six Dining chairs, Model 71, designed by Danish furniture designer Arne Hovmand-Olsen in 1959. These chairs were produced by the renowned manufacturer Mogens Kold and are a prime example of Danish Mid-Century Modern design. The design is characterized by its sculptural elegance and organic lines, making it a timeless addition to any interior.
The frame of each chair is expertly crafted from solid teak wood, recognizable by its warm, rich grain and deep brown color. The backrest is subtly curved for comfort, while the distinctive, open armrests create a sense of lightness and sophistication. 2 of the seats have been re-upholstered with black skai, creating a durable and sleek contrast with the natural wood. See photos.
This set is in good vintage condition, retaining the character and patina typical of furniture from this period. The woodwork has been carefully maintained. The construction is solid and testifies to the high-quality craftsmanship for which Danish design is known.
These Dining chairs are an elegant choice for around a modern or classic dining table. They fit seamlessly into a Scandinavian, vintage, or minimalist interior and add an element of design history and understated luxury to the dining area.
