Series of 5 acrylic items.
was born on April 5, 1965 in Saigon
At the age of 15, he fled communist-conquered South Vietnam along with a few family members and over a hundred other Vietnamese.
Creative talent
As an illustrator, Minh used his creative talent to visualize the stories of others on commission. Within that framework, his techniques refined.
An incurable disease forced him to adapt his way of working.
When the end of his own life story suddenly drew near, a strong urge also arose to visualize *that* story first. Not as an illustration, not as he had always worked, but from life itself, the flowers, the garden, nature, the memories, that which was his life.
The limitations imposed by the disease became opportunities to discover new ways of working. Sitting at the drawing table was not possible, but standing at the easel was.
New playfulness
And later, he carried his sketchbook with him everywhere. Gardening may no longer have been possible, but capturing the abundance in color and form was all the more so.
A new playfulness emerged, which also resulted in the painting of household items.
