About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
Homage to Piet Mondrian, Theo van Doesburg, and De Stijl
Acrylic painting on canvas, which, within a 5 x 5 grid of sub-squares, constructively explores several tensions: the contrast of color itself, the contrast of light and dark, and, through varying numbers of different colored subgroups, the quantitative contrast. The overall composition emerges from arranging the sub-areas of a selected color subgroup into a primary figure that stands in harmonious or contrasting dynamic tension with the background of the surrounding secondary sub-areas.
Year of creation: 2024
