This set of four Vitra Wire Chair DKR chairs, designed by Charles and Ray Eames in 1951, is an iconic example of mid-century modern design. The chairs combine a transparent, airy appearance with a robust construction, making them a timeless addition to any interior. The seat shell is crafted from welded steel wire with a black powder coating, mounted on the distinctive 'Eiffel Tower base'. This specific set features the two-piece seat and back cushions, also known as the 'bikini' upholstery, finished in original black Hopsak fabric. The chairs come with the original Vitra Certificate of Authenticity and accompanying documentation. The set is in very good condition and shows the careful handling by the previous owner. The construction is fully intact and the upholstery retains its original shape and color. These chairs look excellent around a modern or industrial dining table.
