About this seller
ProfessionalProduct description
This set of four chairs was designed by Charles and Ray Eames for Herman Miller and exemplifies iconic mid-century design. The chairs feature the coveted organically shaped fiberglass seat shell, known for its durability and subtle texture, and are supported by the elegant chrome-plated steel 'Eiffel' base.
Each chair in this set presents a unique color – orange, off-white, forest green, and deep blue – showcasing the versatility of the original design. The seat shells are made of fiberglass, a material valued by the Eames for its moldable and strong properties. The base consists of welded steel wires with a polished chrome finish. As noted on one of the chairs, this set dates from 1964, representing an early production phase of this classic design.
The overall condition of the set is good, consistent with its age and history. The fiberglass shells retain their structural integrity and vibrant colors, showing a patina that testifies to decades of careful use. The chrome bases are stable and retain their original luster.
This versatile set is ideal as Dining chairs, as accent seating in a living area, or as a stylish addition to an office. The different colors allow for a playful yet sophisticated arrangement that seamlessly integrates into modern, eclectic, or mid-century inspired interiors.
