Four extraordinary chairs! The Plia folding chair, designed by Giancarlo Piretti in the 1960s. The chair was, and is, produced by Castelli. The chair was first presented in Milan during the Fiera del Mobile. The chair was so popular there that it was literally chained up because people simply walked away with it. Piretti's design was seen as revolutionizing the concept of the "folding chair.
The Plia folding chairs for sale here are rarer specimens. These have webbing seats and backs, a version not often seen. These are chairs that have been in use for about 40 years. Because of this advanced age, some slight signs of use are present. Of the four chairs, the webbing has been completely replaced by a professional braider. The chrome parts are fully polished and are in good condition, here and there slight signs of use.
All in all a special set of chairs!
