Product description
JL Møllers Møbelfabrik Model 401 – Beechwood dining chairs designed by Jorgen Henrik Møller (1970)
For those seeking authentic Danish design, these four Model 401 dining chairs from JL Møllers Møbelfabrik are a particularly beautiful find. Designed by Jorgen Henrik Møller in 1970, they demonstrate how functionality, material use, and refined simplicity can come together.
Designer: Jorgen Henrik Møller
Møller is known for his clear designs and attention to detail. His work from the mid-century period is characterized by an understated design language and careful craftsmanship. The Model 401 is an excellent example of this: a light, open chair that effortlessly combines comfort and aesthetics.
The brand: JL Møllers Møbelfabrik
Since its establishment in 1944, JL Møllers Møbelfabrik has built a reputation for durable, artisan-crafted furniture. Each chair is produced by hand, without compromising on quality. The beechwood construction and papercord seat of the Model 401 precisely emphasize what the brand stands for: pure material, precision, and timeless design.
Styling
The warm appearance of beechwood combined with papercord makes these chairs easy to integrate into various interiors. They fit seamlessly around a minimalist dining table but feel just as at home in a more eclectic space. Their calm form and high-quality finish add character without dominating.
This set of Model 401 chairs offers not only a piece of design history but also furniture pieces designed to last for generations. A nuanced, understated choice for those who appreciate Danish modernism.
