Product description
This is a set of four antique Dining chairs, manufactured by the renowned Austro-Hungarian furniture maker Jacob & Josef Kohn. The chairs are an iconic example of early 20th-century Viennese café house design, produced using the revolutionary bentwood technique for which the company, along with competitor Thonet, was known.
Each chair is made of solid beech wood, bent into the characteristic flowing forms of the Art Nouveau period. The dark brown finish accentuates the wood grain and elegant silhouettes. A special detail is the embossed pattern pressed into the wooden seats, a decorative element typical of furniture from this era. The original paper labels from the J. & J. Kohn factory in Radom are partially preserved under the seats, confirming their authenticity and origin.
The set is in good, solid condition commensurate with its age of over a century. The wood has developed a characteristic patina over the years, contributing to its authentic appearance. The construction of all four chairs is sturdy, and they are ready for daily use.
These chairs are versatile and fit effortlessly into various interior styles, from classic and rustic to eclectic or modern decor. They function perfectly as Dining chairs, but can also be placed as stylish individual chairs in a living room or study.
