The Fritz Hansen butterfly stool is an iconic design by Arne Jacobsen from 1955. This is because the seat is made of bent plywood, a technique he previously used in the Ant Chair. The series 7 Butterfly Chair is considered the crowning achievement of Arne Jacobsen's work in terms of bent plywood, as the shape turned out perfectly. He was inspired by Charles and Ray Eames, who were the first to successfully make some furniture out of plywood.
