Product description
This is a set of four dining chairs, designed by the Danish designer Erling Torvits for Sorø Stolefabrik in the 1960s. The chairs are a prime example of mid-century Danish design, characterized by an elegant silhouette and a focus on functionality and craftsmanship.
The frame of each chair is made of warm-toned wood, with a striking ladder backrest that offers both support and refined aesthetics. The seats are upholstered in black skai, creating a classic contrast with the wood. The organic lines and tapered legs are characteristic of Torvits' designs and the Danish furniture tradition of that period.
The set is in good condition, consistent with its age and use. One of the chairs shows a slight discoloration in the wood on the backrest. The construction is solid, and the chairs bear the manufacturer's stamp on the underside, confirming their authenticity.
These chairs are a timeless addition to a dining room or kitchen and fit seamlessly into both vintage and modern interiors. They combine well with a wooden dining table to create a cohesive and stylish dining area.
