Product description
A set of four Dining chairs, designed by the Belgian designer Axel van Enthoven for the Dutch manufacturer Rohé Noordwolde. These chairs are an excellent example of the use of natural materials in modern furniture design. The design is characterized by its flowing, uninterrupted line and sculptural form, giving the set a striking yet elegant appearance.
The construction of each chair consists of bundled bamboo sticks bent into a continuous curve to form both the frame and the legs. The bamboo is finished with a dark grey, almost black lacquer that accentuates the natural texture of the material. The seats are upholstered with a textile featuring a botanical leaf motif in shades of green on a cream-colored background, providing a vibrant contrast to the dark frame.
This set is in very good vintage condition, with some traces of use visible on the seats. The overall condition testifies to careful use over the years, and the chairs retain their structural integrity and aesthetic charm. The design is a characteristic example of Rohé's expertise in working with rattan and bamboo. 1 chair is marked.
