About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
Offered is a set of four Gispen 302XL armchairs, an icon of Dutch design. This model is a further development of the original design by W.H. Gispen, adapted for modern comfort while retaining the classic aesthetic. The chairs are immediately recognizable by their elegant, minimalist silhouette and functional design, making them a sought-after object for lovers of Dutch Design. The construction consists of a slender, black metal tubular frame that provides a light yet stable base. The seat, backrest, and characteristic armrests are upholstered with a durable, woven textile fabric. The upholstery features a unique two-tone weave of purple and green threads, creating a vibrant and nuanced color effect that changes with the light. The XL size offers a more spacious and comfortable seating area than the original model from the 1930s.This set is in good, minimally used condition. The original upholstery is intact, and the chairs are structurally sound, testifying to the high-quality production for which Gispen is known. The overall appearance is well-maintained and consistent across the four chairs, with a character that suits their age and use. These versatile armchairs are ideal as Dining chairs with extra comfort, as conference chairs in a stylish office, or as accent chairs in a living room. They fit seamlessly into modern, industrial, and Mid-Century interiors and add a touch of design history to any space. Completely new upholstery in Kvdrat Hallingdal 968.
