Product description
Rare set of four cantilever tubular frame chairs (type 436) with bakelite armrests, designed by Paul Schuitema for Fana in the 1940s. These chairs have recently been completely restored, fitted with new cold foam and professionally re-upholstered with a high-quality upholstery fabric from Gabriel fabrics, 'contour melange' in a sparkling green color (number 68308), which gives them a contemporary look while retaining their original character. The chrome-plated frames are in good condition and show hardly any signs of wear, as do the bakelite armrests.
The same chairs were located at the Chamber of Commerce in Rotterdam, one of which was included in the collection of the Museum of Rotterdam (photo 1).
