The Trinidad Chair is one of the most distinctive pieces of postmodern Danish design. This chair—also known as model 3298—was designed by Nanna Ditzel in 1993. The facades of houses in Trinidad inspired her to create this design, hence the name Trinidad Chair.
The Trinidad Chair features a simple yet elegant tubular metal frame, and the seat and backrest are carved from separate pieces of laminated wood, both in a fan shape. The backrest and seat are carved with the same pattern. The construction and elegance of this beautiful design by Nanna Ditzel convey a lightness and elegance unique to Danish design.
