About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
This set of four Armchairs was designed by Maison Regain in the 1970s and is a characteristic example of the brutalist design of that era. The Armchairs are characterized by their robust construction and the use of high-quality natural materials, which gives them a strong sculptural presence. The combination of a solid wooden frame and lush leather upholstery embodies the comfort and aesthetics of 1970s French design.
Each Armchair rests on a solid frame of dark stained wood, whose clear, block-like forms are typical of Brutalism. The generous upholstery is covered with rich, brown leather, forming a deep, inviting seat shell. The quilted details on the seat and backrest emphasize the high-quality craftsmanship and add additional texture and visual appeal to the design.
The overall condition of the Armchairs is good and corresponds to their age and use. The leather has developed a distinct and authentic patina over time, which gives each piece a unique character. These traces of time tell the story of the Armchairs and contribute to their vintage charm.
These Armchairs are a striking addition to any interior inspired by Mid-Century Modern, eclectic, or brutalist styles. They function excellently as a seating group in a living room or as expressive individual pieces in a library or office.
