Product description
4 Gala Chairs — Bernal & Isern for Sellex, 1988
A sculptural expression of late-1980s Spanish design. This set of four Gala chairs, designed by Gemma Bernal and Ramón Isern for Sellex, brings together sweeping aluminium curves, slender black metal frames and original woven upholstery.
The defining detail is the continuous aluminium backrest, curving around the sitter and tapering into short armrests. Its broad metallic surface catches the light, contrasting with the precise lines of the dark frame.
The seats retain their original charcoal fabric, with a fine geometric weave and subtle sheen. Viewed closely, the textile reveals a depth of texture that complements the smooth aluminium.
An architectural presence around a dining table, equally suited to a considered workspace.
