Private sellerProduct description
This is a swivel chair designed by the Italian designer Gastone Rinaldi and made of chrome-plated metal. The piece is a characteristic example of mid-20th century design, known as the „Pan Am“ model due to its distinctive, spiderweb-like wire structure. The chair consists of a grid of welded steel rods, forming an ergonomic and visually light seat shell. It stands on a matching swivel base, allowing full freedom of movement. The entire construction is finished in a silver-colored chrome, which emphasizes the sculptural lines of the design. This chair was manufactured in Italy in the 1970s and embodies the spirit of Space Age design.Despite some rust spots, the chair is in good vintage condition and retains its original structural integrity and finish. The patina developed over the years adds to the authentic character of the piece and tells the story of its use. The swivel mechanism is fully functional. With its open and airy silhouette, this chair is well-suited as an accent piece in a living room, study, or reading nook. It seamlessly fits into Mid-Century Modern, eclectic, or industrial style interiors, offering both functional seating and a sculptural design element.
