About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
This set of four cantilever chairs is a tribute to the revolutionary designs of the Bauhaus period, associated with pioneers such as Mart Stam and Marcel Breuer. The chairs embody the functionalist aesthetic of the movement, where form and material come together in a timeless and elegant silhouette. Each chair is crafted with a frame of glossy chrome-plated tubular steel, which forms the characteristic cantilever structure in a continuous line. The seat, backrest, and armrests are upholstered with sturdy, thick black leather, ensuring a comfortable sit and a refined contrast with the cool metal. The design is a classic example of mid-20th-century modernism, where industrial materials were applied to domestic furniture. The overall condition of the chairs is very good, retaining their original finish and structural integrity. The leather is supple and shows a character consistent with careful use, while the chrome has maintained its bright luster. This set is an authentic example of design history. These versatile chairs fit perfectly at a modern dining table, in a conference room, or as stylish accent chairs in a living room. They combine effortlessly with both vintage and contemporary interiors and add a touch of design history to any space.
