Set of 3 polyurethane (baydur) side tables by Peter Ghyczy for Horn Collection. German designer Peter Ghyczy was born in Budapest in 1940. Due to political unrest, Ghyczy's family fled Budapest in 1956, moving first to Vienna and then to Bonn, Germany. Ghyczy completed his secondary education in Germany and studied sculpture in Düsseldorf before studying architecture in Aachen in 1960. After graduating, Ghyczy developed a large number of designs for furniture makers and factories in Germany, including Vitra. Today, Ghyczy 's designs from the 1970s are highly sought after by collectors and fetch high prices on the vintage market. One of his most iconic designs is this set of space age side tables, which can be used as side tables, coffee tables or even bedside tables, thanks to their simple yet undeniably elegant design, making them the perfect addition to just about any room. As for storage space, these tables slide together, which is very practical as the set is so easy to store and put away.
This item is in perfect (vintage) condition, with hardly any traces of wear and use.
